Hacker leaks GTA 6 videos: What they reveal about the game’s likely gameplay

Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most-awaited games from Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games that is expected to release in 2024 or 2025. General rumours related to this title have been out on the internet for a long time as this game will be a new addition to the franchise after a decade.
Now, a major leak has reportedly revealed the gameplay and other important details about the upcoming title. A user named ‘teapotuberhacker’ has shared 90 videos on GTAForums that claim to belong to a test build of GTA 6. The hacker, who was also involved in the latest Uber attack, has even mentioned that these test gameplay videos are running with “GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets”.

Since the leak, other users have also uploaded some of the clips and screenshots of the same on YouTube, Twitter, Reddit and other platforms. These new leaks have also corroborated the older ones that suggested the upcoming game will have multiple playable characters including a woman and will be set in and around Vice City (that looks like Miami).
Sources from Rockstar have also confirmed the leak’s validity to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier and have said that these videos are “indeed real.” Schreier added that the footages were early and unfinished and this leak is “one of the biggest leaks in video game history and a nightmare for Rockstar Games”.

What do the new leaked videos reveal
One of the videos reveals a player-character named Lucia who is robbing a waffle restaurant and taking hostages with her partner named Jason (like Pulp Fiction). A shorter clip of the video was also uploaded on Twitter.

Another Twitter clip from the leaked videos is a poolside conversation between a male player-character and two of his associates.

Earlier, another rumour (spotted by PCGamer) claimed that GTA 6 has been under development since 2014 and was originally codenamed ‘Project Americas’. These video files have not only got the word “Americas” in their names but some of them also show a version running on a PlayStation 4 developer kit which could also be several years old.
